Concrete Resurfacing in Parramatta

A real DaniCrete project — the weathered rear patio and front entry steps of an older Parramatta home, transformed with a durable, charcoal Spray Crete finish.

An older Parramatta home, brought back to life

This project was in Parramatta, at the heart of Sydney's west. The home was an established older property with a large covered patio at the rear and a set of front entry steps — both in original concrete that had cracked, stained and worn over the years.

Rather than tear the concrete out and re-pour it, we resurfaced it. Spray Crete goes straight over sound existing concrete, so the owners kept their slab and steps and simply gave them a fresh, modern, hard-wearing surface for a fraction of the disruption of a full replacement.

How it was done

The project, stage by stage

Every one of these photos is from this actual Parramatta job — from bare, cracked concrete through to the finished, sealed surface.

Parramatta patio concrete after pressure washing with cracks cut out and filled, walls masked01

Pressure wash & crack repair

The existing rear patio slab was tired and cracked from years of weather. We pressure washed the whole surface, then cut out and filled the cracks and low spots so we had a sound, stable base to build on.

Etch, profile & mask off

The slab was acid-etched and profiled so the new coating could grip properly, then every wall, window and post around the patio was carefully masked and protected before any product went down.

Front entry steps prepared

The home's front entry steps were prepped the same way — washed back, repaired and squared up — ready to receive the same spray-on system as the patio for a consistent finish across the property.

Primer & base coat

A bonding primer and base coat were applied to lock everything together. This is the layer that turns a patched old slab into one continuous, hard-wearing surface.

Spray coats built up

The spray-on cement coats were then built up in layers over the patio and steps, giving the fine, even stone-like texture that Spray Crete is known for.

Final coat & sealer

A charcoal top coat was laid down and finished with a protective sealer — leaving a clean, modern, easy-to-clean surface that lifts the whole outdoor area of this older Parramatta home.

Why Parramatta homeowners choose resurfacing

Parramatta has a real mix of housing — established older brick homes like this one alongside newer builds. A lot of these properties have solid, structurally sound concrete that has simply aged on the surface. Resurfacing is ideal for exactly that situation.

  • Keep your existing slab — no costly demolition or re-pour
  • A fresh, modern, non-slip surface for patios, steps and driveways
  • Hard-wearing and sealed against Sydney weather and everyday use
  • A wide range of colours and finishes to suit your home
  • Servicing Parramatta and the surrounding western Sydney suburbs
